A four-hour pop up, within a dry cleaners !

Here’s some clever pop up location-thinking (in LA, of course…)

Within just a couple of short years, the collective of (mainly) young, independent and anonymous fashion designers working under the label Vetements has raised quite a few eyebrows… variously described as “the most radical thing to come out of Paris in a decade” * and “the anti-fashion brand waking up the industry” #

The team behind Vetements shook up 2016 Paris Fashion Week by showing their collection in a “tacky” Chinese restaurant (starting at 10pm, an hour late… and no food offered in the meantime) – using their friends as catwalk models – “shell-shocked”, “seemed amphetamine-filled” and “a girl (who)…limped furiously behind” ! #

Last week Vetements set tongues wagging again, hosting a 4 hour pop up event on LA’s Melrose Avenue (Maxfield) And true to their unconventional philosophies and applications… chose a dry cleaners as the venue. The dramatic front window was piled high with “dirty garb”, whilst the actual sale items were featured inside on rotating laundry racks, wrapped in dry cleaners plastic @
