100. Aussie brands pop OT (over there)
Pounding the pavements in Britain and Canada !
In the past couple of days there’s been news of 2 Australian brands doing pop up shops in exotic locations. Well okay… maybe not as exotic as say the Himalayas or downtown Havana… but these are certainly nice gigs for local labels !
Sportswear label Lorna Jane opens a pop up in London’s Covent Garden today – until 4th August. The store will feature their new spring / summer collection as well as offering coaching advice and samples of superfoods and superdrinks. And… something the Brits might not be expecting… 5km fun runs ! On 2 evenings and 2 mornings, they’ll be leaving the door of their pop up (at 1 Shelton Street Covent Garden)… surging through the West End, along the Thames and back to the store for a re-fuel !
Next month “artsy” fashion brand Something Else is joining a pop up installation in Toronto. The Pop-Up 120 store (120 Ossington Avenue) is run by a local fashion distributor and seems kind of permanent… but aims to rotate their brands each season. Initially, the pop up will feature British goth label Religion, followed by Danish design with Ganni… and then our own Something Else in August. The SE guys are not strangers to stepping outside their comfort zone occasionally – they’ve done some impressive collaborations in the past (take a look at their special projects pages).
