Samsung is sharing their technology via a pop up shop… and local businesses


Technology giant Samsung has just opened a pop up shop in London’s Portobello Road, showcasing their latest offerings in mobile devices – including the Galaxy Note 3 variations (tablets) and the Galaxy Gear (smart watch)… Nothing unique about a major brand showcasing their newest products via pop ups (and not actually selling anything – they’ll often refer visitors to nearby retailers to purchase the products…) – but Samsung have gone a step further in sharing the experience.

The Samsung Galaxy Studio on Portobello Road has provided 8 neighbouring retailers with their mobile products, to demonstrate the benefits of integrating Samsung technologies into small business… local participants include cafés and a deli, butcher, hair stylist, nail salon, even a mushroom stall ! Customers can view products, pricelists and recipes via Samsung technology within those shops – uploading details to their own devices. Samsung vice president of IT and mobile technology (UK and Ireland) Simon Stanford says “we believe…. we have created an engaging and immersive experience for our customers to experience our products and see how they can benefit them”

Isn’t this a great concept ? It not only features the Samsung products and shows how they can be integrated into customer’s own lives (and businesses) – but also involves the local trading community to support and interact with the pop up experience !
