A pop up cart for Mother’s Day – and Her Heart
Shining a spotlight on women’s heart disease.
Tomorrow is the start of Heart Week (1st to 7th May), a national campaign to raise awareness (and much-needed funds) for the good work of The Heart Foundation. One organisation working especially hard to support the cause is Her Heart – a Melbourne-based charity focused on women’s heart disease. The Her Heart website quotes some alarming (national) statistics… one in three women will die of heart disease, one dies every hour, 2894 women have died from heart disease in the first months of 2016 (to 30th April) – and 80% of these deaths are preventable. It is a “silent killer”… “a national problem and requires a national campaign to raise awareness” says Dr. Linda Worrall-Carter, Founder and CEO of Her Heart.
And of course next Sunday is Mother’s Day. There’s no better way to support women’s heart health than buying something special (for Mum) which will also help many others… From Wednesday 4th to Saturday 7th May Collins234 will host a pop-up gift cart, offering a “cute range of gifts for Mum“ – and free colour-therapy sessions.
A feature of the ‘cart will be cards by local artist Pamela Irving (best known for her “Larry La Trobe” bronze statue at Melbourne’s City Square)… including a beautifully-designed card for Mother’s Day. All proceeds of the pop up cart will go directly to Her Heart.
