A pop-up store to honour artist Frida Kahlo

Renown artist / cult figure / feminist Frida Kahlo is featured in a pop-up store this weekend.

Surrealist painter Frida Kahlo (1907-1954) was a remarkable woman – disabled by polio as a child, she developed an independent style and character… fiercely critical of the “societal norms” of her native Mexico. Her catalogue of artist works is instantly recognisable (and highly collectable)

Melbourne-based merchandising experts Vicious Threads have worked closely with the Frida Kahlo Corporation to create a range of Frida-inspired apparel, accessories and homewares – on sale this weekend amongst a variety of other Frida-inspired events… including the chance to win colourful hair makeovers by Frida Hair !

Over 3 days in Fitzroy the pop-up store will “pay homage to FRIDA’s life, artistry and quintessential imagination, by offering interactive events, food, coffee and also showcasing pieces from some of Melbourne’s up and coming female artists”*

Entry to the pop-up store will be ticketed (but free) – book online at Eventbrite
