blog blahs #6

…..what other bloggers have said (and done)….

The Cut & Paste was there when… tennis superstar Serena Williams shared some of her exercise secrets at Melbourne Central recently. Ms. Williams’ hints will join other fitness stars on the Nike Training Club app in March this year*

Lady Melbourne (Phoebe Montague) has produced an eBook titled The Ins & Outs of a Media Kit for Bloggers – available on-line for AU$19.00*

We just came across PopUpNewYork.com and the Pop Up New York Blog pages. As their Twitter profile states “…we’re poppin’ around the five boroughs to show you the best things to do, places to go, and sights to see around nyc…” Certainly worth following if you’re planning a visit to New York sometime soon…

And finally… not really a blogger, and also not based in Melbourne… but Trendhunter.com (“….the world’s #1 largest, most popular trend spotting community…”) has announced their Top 20 Trends in 2013 Forecast (by list and video). Including these themes applicable to pop ups and temporary installations :

Shoppertainment  “…the retail experience is about so much more than shopping – it’s about new brand experiences and memorable entertainment…”

Immersive Branding “…giving consumers a fully engrossed brand experience is what immersive branding is all about and companies like Coca-Cola and Cadbury are on trend for 2013 with their latest larger-than-life stunts…”

and Modular Retail “…rebelling against the notion that stores have to be stationary, these modular retail spaces are proving that pop-up shops are here to stay and that mobility is in demand…”

* so they say, we didn’t check these out ourselves…
