dashing towards Christmas

We thought the start of December was already alive with pop up shops… well it seems there are even more stores opening this week, making the most of a last-minute dash to 25th December…

Greville Street Prahran is especially blessed with pop-ups right now (didn’t we say recently… the old girl has the right vibe and potential for great pop up experiences… see our whats up in greville street post)

We cant really plug the established Greville Street pop ups yet again (can we ?)….At #111 (Urban Jin and harv&milla), #126 (Cukoo Nest) and at shop 2 #155 (DIY)

Newcomers at #114 Greville Street… and just there for 5 days this week… is la Femme, featuring luxury lingerie from Italy…

Limited edition handbags by Shashkay & silk scarves by Hokum will be on offer at #109 Greville Street … this weekend only. Starts tomorrow Friday 21st at 9am (with opening-day macarons !….) until Monday 24th December. Open 10am ‘till late each day – except closing at 2pm on Monday. Be quick !

Not far away, around the corner in South Yarra…

Vixen & Velvet continue their Festival pop up shop at #514 Chapel Street – featuring a wide range of “beautiful furniture and objects from around the globe…” Now open 7 days (10am to 9pm this week). Actually, this pop up has been trading a while already (and likely to stay there ‘till the end of January)

Along a bit further at #589 Chapel Street there’s a temporary sale of denim and younger fashion – open now until the end of December

Down in Brighton (and only for this weekend…) there’s a sale of gifty type home-wares, soaps, candles and more – at the Railway Church Street Platform 1, that’s at the Middle Brighton Rail Station. Not sure if you’ll need a valid Myki card to gain access… but since they’re offering a glass of champagne while you shop (yes !)… perhaps public transport might be a good idea ! Open this Friday and Saturday 930am – 6pm

In the city, Melbournalia have returned to the pop up genre, opening a store at 155 Victoria Street (backing onto the Queen Victoria Market). These guys sell locally-produced gifts and souvenirs, as well as lots of books with a distinctly-Melbourne flavour. Open now (through to March next year ?) – Tuesdays to Sunday from 10am (and also late for the Suzuki Night Markets)

A few weeks ago we mentioned that department store Myer had announced their launch of pop up shops leading up to Christmas – see our Myer pops up post. And so…. currently sitting on the forecourt of Melbourne’s Southern Cross Railway station (corner of Spencer and Collins Streets) Myer has installed a shipping container (but hardly recognizable !) to feature around 400 or so of their most popular Christmas gift items. The pop up seems to be open the same hours as a Myer store (10am to 5pm) – it will close on Saturday December 22nd.
