Pop up spas and bars for Summer

This is the best time to indulge in a cool pop up experience !

Summer is here, and the heat has certainly been turned up a notch (or two) – but thankfully a few clever enterprises have thought of ways to comfort us during these warmer months… Sure, it’d be easy to nip into the local mall for a few hours of air-conditioned shopping / eating / watching (films or people…) – but wouldn’t it be nice to drift into cool bliss, whilst indulging in a beauty or massage treatment… or just some “comfort food” (and drink…) ?

Two Victorian businesses have opened pop up spas at ocean beaches this year – the legendary Hepburn Wellness has taken up residence next to the Lorne Sea Baths with a pop-up day spa (offering saltwater and marine-based treatments). The Hepburn Pop Up Day Spa will be open until 1st April.

At another Melbourne beach-holiday destination, the Lavanya Day Spa has returned to Inverloch (their 2nd summer pop up). The ‘spa provides 60 and 90 minute massages in “luxurious air conditioned glamping safari tent treatment rooms” – until 20th January.

The Point Lonsdale Surf Lifesaving Club is also hosting a return of their summer food pop-up event… with a tasty food truck, ice cream, cool beverages and tunes ! Open daily (until 26th January), 5pm to 11pm.

In Sydney the Museum of Contemporary Art has opened a Japanese-themed pop up bar to coincide with the current Tatsuo Miyajima installation. The exhibition is described as “heavy stuff and you’ll no doubt appreciate a stiff sake while staring at the water afterwards… (under a canopy of cherry blossom and lanterns)”#

But ‘cummon Sydney… there must be more summer pop ups happening on your beautiful coast line ! (and where are the Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth holiday pop ups ?) Please share details of your local events…
