The Rag Trade and Recycle Market supports pop up stall holders

A unique Melbourne fashion and clothing market is set to return, with a new home.

Here’s an opportunity for small “rag traders” to pop up for a few hours every month, sell their new (or pre-loved) clothing, meet and interact with customers – and get valuable, instant feedback ! The Rag Trade and Recycle Market is different from any other regular market held around Melbourne – not constrained by the “no recycled clothing… (or) no new items… (or) no casual stall holders…” policies of some major markets.

The Rag Trade and Recycle Market “aims to provide high quality goods at awesome prices” – and represents a great opportunity for casual stall holders to sell all kinds of clothing and accessories… designer garments, vintage pieces, hand-made… items can be brand new, or pre-loved !

Rag Trade manager Nikki also runs an events business… so she certainly know how to make things happen ! Nikki has been working on this concept for around 5 years – she initially launched in a Collingwood school yard in 2014 (the same day that H&M opened in Melbourne – luckily her market was an immediate success !). For the past 18 months she’s been negotiating with the City of Yarra to bring the market across to Richmond – in the same location as the 142 year-old Gleadell Street fresh food market (open most Saturday mornings, year ‘round)

The Rag Trade and Recycle Market is re-launching this Sunday 8th November, for an initial 6 month trail in Richmond (until April 2016) Stalls are still available for this weekend… conditions, rates – and application forms – can be found on the ‘Market website.
