AZBcreative pops with passion

Here’s a team bursting with energy and enthusiasm for all things pop up !

A few months ago I met the creator behind AZBcreative, while he was in town for the bump in and launch of a Melbourne event… I was lucky to catch Mr. Alex Zabotto-Bentley and some of the AZB crew as finishing touches were added to their MasterChef pop up installation… Alex is a person with an obvious passion for pop up – and heads up a team of similarly talented and hard-working specialists.  Not just for unique dining and bar experiences (for which they are developing a reputation as Australia’s go-to agency) – but also in many other large and impressive themed events.

AZBcreative was launched around 4 years ago, as a “full service agency” – creating events from their initial concept right through to awesome execution. Usually there’s around 10 staff busy on any number of projects – designers, project managers and event specialists working hard to create memorable installations for a variety of (very impressive) clients. But for a project like the MasterChef pop ups (which travelled between Sydney and Melbourne, planning started back in December 2012) the numbers swelled to around 40 – and that’s certainly a whole lot of energy and enthusiasm !

It seems that 2013 was a busy year for the AZB team – several high-profile corporate and charity functions, a pavilion at the Paspaley Polo (Sydney)… they also travelled to Noosa, Bali, Japan… (and this week Mr. Z-B is in Argentina !)

At our September meeting… amongst the chaos of scaffolding and crates, slabs of carrera marble and stainless steel benches coming together in the MasterChef dining room… I mentioned to Alex that pop up has come a long way in the past few years – but surprisingly there are still people who need an explanation of the “pop up“ concept. “Really ? (he said)… where have they been… living in a cave ?”

I can’t wait to see what AZB has in store for 2014 !
