Poo poo to pop up
Regular readers of the articles posted here at popUPshopsMelbourne would (hopefully) get a sense that I am pretty positive about most-things pop up… commenting happily on the installations and venues, resources and trends that I come across…
One of the features of this blog site is the Melbourne locations tab – it is fairly well visited by readers as a source of shops available to pop up. The “locations offered” list provides links to details of properties and also a few local commercial real estate agents who are (generally) willing to talk pop up. At least that’s what I thought…
This week I had a contact from an agent who’d been mentioned on the list – he had agreed to his inclusion on the list early in 2013. His message was pretty brief :
“Please remove my contact details immediately from your site. I have no shops for pop up leases and I am strongly opposed to them as they are ruining our retail strips and giving no confidence in long terms tenure”.
Ouch ! Maybe I’m being a little sensitive… but are there others who feel this way about pop up ? In the spirit of debate, I open the floor to your comments… I’m curious to hear what you say !
